Dublin, 4th November 2015 – CREDIT UNIONS’ & ILCU FOUNDATION WELCOMES INTERNATIONAL COLLEAGUES
A delegation of Russian credit union representatives visited Ireland recently to take part in a week-long study visit which included completing a number of learning seminars and to visit four credit unions across the island of Ireland.
A total of fourteen people from various credit unions and associations in Russia were selected having completed a number of seminars and training programmes prior to embarking on their trip. The highly anticipated visit from the Russian group was cooperatively organised by the ILCU Foundation and a number of representative bodies from the Russian credit union system.
The group visited two community based credit unions, Cois Sionna Credit Union Ltd. and St. Francis Credit Union Ltd. The group also visited two industrial/work based credit unions, Teachers Union of Ireland Credit Union Ltd. and RTE Credit Union Ltd., to provide the group with an opportunity to understand the differences between both types of credit unions and to share in the practical experiences of credit union operations by meeting with staff, volunteers and management from each credit union.
